Just Giving Admin Fees

In previous years we have used Virgin Money Giving, as they made it explicitly clear how much their administration costs were, and gave donators the option to cover these costs. Unfortunately Virgin Money Giving closed its virtual doors in November 2021, which means we have moved to Just Giving.

So, how does Just Giving’s Admin Fee process work?

You’ll notice when you make a donation that Just Giving will ask for a voluntary contribution toward their processing costs, and many people believe that doing so will mean more of their initial donation goes to charity.

That isn’t the case.

Just Giving take a standard 1.9% of the donation for payment processing, plus a flat 20p on top, regardless of whether the donator contributes to their admin fees or not.

Processing donations costs money, as does maintaining the infrastructure to do so, so by all means if you like the work Just Giving do and want to help them out, feel free to add a voluntary contribution on for them.

But whether you do or you don’t, please be aware we receive the same amount to pass on to our amazing charity, and we appreciate every penny!

If you can… Gift Aid It!

Provided you are a UK Taxpayer and you are donating your own money, you should be eligible to add gift aid to your donation, and it doesn’t cost you a penny extra!

For every £1 you donate, Gift Aid allows us to claim an extra 25p, which can really add up and make a huge difference!

Not only that, it’s a great way to negate the small payment processing fee that is deducted when you donate!

Keep an eye out for the ‘Gift Aid’ question on step 4 of the donation process, it will look something like this…

Help Build Our Playlists

“One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain.”

– Bob Marley

Our riders are no strangers to pain. Burning muscles, blisters, saddle sore… you name it and after 100+ miles on the road they will be feeling it.

So we’re looking to give them some additional motivation through the medium of music and we want you to help us build the playlists!

The 2022 Playlist went down a storm, so let’s make 2023 even better!

Want to get your favourite jam on the list? Or make them listen to Steps on repeat?
