The Legacy of Andy & Damien
The origins of Ride4Life began with a simple vision: to bring people together for a physical challenge on two wheels, raise money for amazing causes and have fun whilst doing it.
Andy saw the benefits both physically and mentally from riding and the ability to bring people together for a common cause.
In 2016 Andy, his good friend Damien, and Gav set out on the inaugural ride, cycling 185 miles from Doncaster to London in aid of Cancer Research UK.
Sadly, and as many of you know, Andy and Damien tragically lost their lives in a road traffic accident on 1st June 2020 whilst training for that year’s event.
It’s with them forever in our hearts that we ride each year, continuing their legacy and raising money for great causes.
More About...
For 2026 we are once again raising money for Samaritans!
Samaritans provides confidential emotional support to anyone in distress or struggling to cope.
They are available 24/7 through phone, email, and other services, offering a safe space for people to talk without judgment.
Their volunteers listen and support individuals experiencing loneliness, depression, or suicidal thoughts, aiming to reduce feelings of isolation and help people find a way through difficult times.
On average, they respond to around 10,000 calls for help each day in the UK and Ireland, which works out at around 1 call every 10 seconds!
By supporting us on the Ride4Life you are ensuring that there is someone available to listen when people need it most.
